- Send your change of home address documents to post office.
- Get documents for school transfers, if you have kids.
- Get a moving company, and make reservations .
- Give your new address to family and friends.
- Have a garage sale or otherwise lighten up the load.
<b>Checklist For Moving - 1 Or 2 Weeks Before</b>
- Move your banking accounts to the new location.
- Return hired movies, books to library, etc.
- Have your prescription medications transferred to the new location.
- Clean the house.
- Call for utility shut-offs and new connections.
- Dispose of things that won't be moved.
- Begin packing and labling containers.
- Prepare and pack an "essentials" box for arrival (toiletries, paper plates, etc.).

- Be sure you eat.
- Begin early.
- Check each room and utility area.
- Switch off all lights, lock the entrance doors.
